Grace Ridge Retirement Community has kicked off a $15 million master renovation project in Morganton, N.C.
Plans include enhancing community spaces on the third, fourth, and fifth floors to create more user-friendly areas for art, meetings, and sports viewing.
“The most significant upgrade will be the transformation of the first floor from a blank hallway to a welcoming and vibrant café and lounge,” says Chris Romick, executive director, Grace Ridge. “The focal point will be an outdoor seating area with a retractable awning for sunshade, propane fire circle and unobstructed mountain views.”
The interconnected game room will be converted to a lounge with a club-like environment, while other campus-wide improvements include the addition of a medical clinic, spa and beauty salon, and remodel of the healthcare wing and commercial kitchen.
Several independent living cottages are being renovated to with new lighting, built-in catering bar and new heating and cooling systems.
Construction is expected to be completed in late 2019.
The architect is GMK Associates.
