The entitlement process and final deisgns are underway for Villaggio at San Luis Obispo, a luxury-style retirement community in San Luis Obispo, Calif. Construction is expected to start in 2019.
The Mediterranean Village-designed development will have a planned health center which will offer a full continuum of care that includes assisted living, memory support, and skilled nursing. There will be 350 units including villas, garden terraces, apartments, and village suites.
Villaggio will feature a centralized Village Plaza with an open-air design that includes a Main Street, multiple restaurants, café, courtyard gathering places, and a many amenities such as a spa, swimming pool, wellness and fitness center, movie theatre, library, creative art studio and nearby biking and walking trails.
Sustainable and energy-efficient design and materials will be incorporated to seek LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification by the U.S. Green Building Council. RRM Design Group is the design architect for the project.
