Longstanding Healthcare Design (HCD) magazine Editor-in-Chief Kristin D. Zeit has been promoted to the position of Publisher as well as on its sister magazine, Environments for Aging (EFA). Ms. Zeit has been an editor and writer for more than 20 years with a focus on commercial interior design and architecture.
“Kristin has demonstrated her commitment and insight in the healthcare design market and exhibited extraordinary leadership in the 20 months since Emerald acquired the healthcare design portfolio—which includes not only the publications but also HCD Expo and EFA Expo,” said Joe Randall, Executive Vice President of Emerald’s Design & Construction Group. “In the past year, Kristin assembled an Editorial Advisory Board composed of 38 notable industry authorities, launched the first-ever CitySCENE networking event and the first-ever HCD Forum thought leadership event, led the redesign of HCD magazine and, in January 2017, the first print edition Buyers Guides for both HCD and EFA.” Randall added, “Kristin is the obvious choice to lead the brands’ future.”
Seven-year HCD veteran Jennifer Kovacs Silvis, currently the Executive Editor, advances to fill the Editor-in-Chief position that Kristin vacates. Anne DiNardo moves up from Senior Editor to Executive Editor and Associate Editor Shandi Matambanadzo will become Managing Editor.
“We are very fortunate to have such a strong editorial team which Kristin has built over her tenure, so that we can ensure a seamless transition as Kristin looks to lead not only the HCD and EFA franchises but also the healthcare design industry at large,” Randall concluded.
