Port Healthcare Center, part of Whittier Health Network, broke ground on a 123-bed skilled nursing facility in Newburyport, Mass. The replacement facility will offer long-term residential care as well as short-term rehabilitation and sub-acute care services.
The 62,000 square-foot community will offer private and semiprivate rooms, a beauty salon, music/library room, community and private dining rooms, a meeting and teleconference facility, occupational and physical therapy rooms, and exterior patios.
The project team includes design firm Ranere Associates Inc. (Reading, Mass.) and construction firm Nauset Construction (Needham, Mass.). The project is expected to be completed in fall 2017.
