Evangelical Homes of Michigan (EHM; Detroit), a non-profit health organization, is the new owner of the former St. Joseph Mercy Saline health building in Ann Arbor, Mich., and plans to turn it into a new community with residential and hospice care, primary and specialty healthcare, and rehab and wellness programs as well as educational classes and community events.
Since 2011, EHM has been leasing 22,000 square feet of the building to operate its Redies Center for Rehabilitation and Healthy Living, a short-term rehabilitation center, and a $5.2 million investment by EHM in a state-of-the-art rehab and wellness facility. The 100,000-square-foot facility became available when St. Joe's relocated its urgent care and outpatient services last year.
EHM estimates it will spend an additional $500,000 over the next year to renovate the facility.
