Welch Healthcare and Retirement Group (Norwell, Mass.) plans to renovate the John Scott House Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Braintree, Mass., which is one of the company’s first nursing communities.
The project will include expanding parking area with a new covered drive-up main entrance and renovating all resident rooms and common areas. The rehabilitation gym will be relocated to a new post-acute short-term rehabilitation unit.
“John Scott House symbolizes our company’s early history and the pioneering vision of my parents, Thomas and Rita Welch,” says Richard M. Welch, president of Welch Healthcare and Retirement Group, whose parents established the community in 1949 after they customized their two-story home to provide care and health services to area seniors.
