Construction work is underway at Brightview Canton (Canton, Mass.), one of Brightview Senior Living's communities.
The $30 million design-build community will feature 160 apartment homes consisting of 95 independent living apartment homes, 40 assisted living apartment homes, and a 25-apartment neighborhood dedicated to memory and Alzheimer’s care.
The design will echo the style of New England’s historical Victorian mansions with a mansard roof, porches, turrets, and dormer windows. Plans call for the community to have dining rooms, a café, wellness/fitness center, movie theater, pub room, multipurpose activity room, beauty/barber salon, and a library/media room.
The Welcome Center will open spring 2015 and Brightview Canton is scheduled to open spring 2016.
The project is being developed by Shelter Development (Baltimore) and will be operated by Brightview Senior Living. ProCon (Manchester, N.H.) is the design-build contractor and Blair Hines Design Associates is the landscape architect.
