Legacy Village of Jacksonville has announced that construction on The Harbor, its new 24-bed memory care unit in Jacksonville, Ala., is scheduled to be completed in the first quarter of this year.

The design theme for the apartment suites at The Harbor, configured especially for those with memory loss, focuses on the 1950s to stimulate pleasant memories for the residents.

The interior decor, furniture, and common areas have a vintage design that incorporates a modern technology infrastructure. The decor also features bright and cheery colors along with large six-foot windows in each apartment.

A town center encourages socialization and residents can engage in daily activities designed to help them feel connected. The Harbor will be an extension of the 42 individual senior living units which already a part of Legacy Village of Jacksonville’s senior living facility.
