Fort Wayne Housing Authority Opens Southside Senior Villas

Fort Wayne Housing Authority has completed a new affordable senior housing complex in Fort Wayne, Ind. Each unit has a private entrance with porch, carpeted floors, and a low-step shower.

The 16-unit, $1.9 million complex was designed to meet the underserved housing needs  seniors who are at or below 50 percent of the area’s median income, and is constructed to LEED Silver environmental energy efficiency standards.

Fort Wayne Housing Authority has completed a new affordable senior housing complex in Fort Wayne, Ind. Each unit has a private entrance with porch, carpeted floors, and a low-step shower.

The 16-unit, $1.9 million complex was designed to meet the underserved housing needs  seniors who are at or below 50 percent of the area’s median income, and is constructed to LEED Silver environmental energy efficiency standards.

It is located near a bus route, a community food bank, and a retail center. The new affordable senior housing complex sits on a wooded lot and features a security monitoring system.

Southside Senior Villas is financed by Federal Home Loan Bank of Indianapolis, Star Financial Bank, and U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

The development partners for the project are Insight Development, Martin Riley Architects and Engineer, Millstone Construction Inc., Reno & Cavanaugh LLC, and Swihart Law LLC.
