C.W. Driver (Pasadena, Calif.) has begun construction on Fountainview at Gonda West Los Angeles Westside Campus. Construction is scheduled for completion in 2016.
The $100 million, 460,000-square-foot continuing care retirement community designed by Gensler (Los Angeles), will feature 175 units for independent living and an additional 24 units will offer assisted living and/or memory care.
Designed to blend comfort and elegance in a resort-like setting, the complex will feature one- and two-bedroom units, ranging in size from 840 to 2,380 square feet. Units will include full kitchens, washer and dryers, and terraces, while some of the larger units will also include dens and media rooms.
C.W. Driver will coordinate and oversee the construction of the building as well as manage site logistics and the scheduling, safety, and quality control of all subcontractors. Additional project consultants include SFA Design (Los Angeles), Saiful Bouquet Structural Engineer (Pasadena, Calif.), Donald F. Dickerson Associates (Tarzana, Calif.), Cini-Little International Inc. (Novelty, Ohio), Rowley International Inc. (Palos Verdes Estates), and Aquatic Design Group (Carlsbad, Calif.).
