Grace Lutheran Foundation (Eau Claire, Wis.) is moving forward with its proposal to build a healthcare campus in Altoona, Wis. The voting members of Grace Lutheran Church have approved the plans. The new community is expected to be completed in June 2016.
The proposal calls for a replacement long term care facility, a community center, and more. The new campus, which will be built on 9.2 acres south of the new Oak Leaf Hospital, will be in proximity to the Grace Edgewood Assisted Living facility.
The senior living community will offer person-centered care and a household design with a home-like environment that focuses on independence and community. Features include private rooms and bathrooms with a shower, as well as common spaces that the residents can share in their household.
Residents will have flexible dining schedules with menus that can be adapted to the resident's satisfaction, and they will be able to control the heating and cooling within their personal areas.
