Avanti Senior Living (The Woodlands, Texas) has purchased 6.4 acres of land in Shenandoah’s first planned development district (PDD) — Vision Park — as the site of its Avanti at Vision Park community. Groundbreaking is scheduled for mid August, with opening to follow in Fall 2015.
The senior community will offer 50 assisted living and 40 memory care accommodations designed by architecture firm PRDG (Dallas), with interior design by Studiosix5 (Austin, Texas). Development is by Cypressbrook and construction by Oakbrook Builders.
The resort-style community includes single-story residences on short hallways radiating from a central service core; outdoor porches on many residences, with views of the wooded landscape; multiple dining venues in separate spaces; and a technology system providing monitoring and communications services connecting residents, their families, and the care team.
The 60.9-acre district runs north and south between St. Luke’s The Woodlands Hospital to the north and Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Hospital to the south. Already the district is the site of specialty hospitals, rehabilitation centers, diagnostic centers, and medical office buildings.
