Trinity Continuing Care Services (Livonia, Mich.) has proposed demolishing the current nursing care facility at Marycrest Manor (Livonia, Mich.) and replacing it with a two-story facility that would serve short- and long-term needs for seniors and include apartments and rehabilitation facilities.

The new facility would provide short-term care on the first floor, which would consist of about 50 beds. The first floor would also house several assisted-living units and the second floor would contain those in need of long-term care. The campus would also have independent living apartments.

The new facility will join Marycrest Heights nearby, which was approved in 2008 and consists of several senior apartments. Marycrest Heights is also owned by Trinity Continuing Care.

If approved, construction will begin later this summer and will be complete by 2017.
