The planning process is just getting started for a proposed senior living facility in Towamencin, Pennsylvania, and township officials got their first look April 9 at the proposed project. Construction is expected to take 11 months to complete.
Plans call for a three-story, 110-bed, 90,000-square-foot facility according to a draft presented by project manager Jerold Watkins of New York-based Wegman Cos.
Watkins and architect Greg Elmore of Oregon-based Lenity Architecture described how the proposed Towamencin facility would be similar to those already run or being planned by Wegman across the country.
The 5.5-acre property where the project would be built is currently zoned as part of the township’s Village Commercial district. The senior facility would require conditional use approval from the township to approve the use as a personal care facility before the land development process.
