In 18 months, retirees and elderly Magic Valley residents who need care will have another residential option. A Ketchum-based development group is under contract to build a continuing care and retirement center in Twin Falls, Idaho.
Developer Peter Candy and his investors also are taking out an option on an adjoining 4.7 acres for future expansion. The newly formed company isn’t yet named, and neither is the community.
The Twin Falls City Council approved an amendment to the site’s planned unit development on March 10. The first phase of the multistory facility will consist of 13 independent living cottages, 30 assisted living and 20 memory care units, according to Candy. Some independent units and assisted-living units will be configured for double occupancy.
The facility will be operated by TanaBell Health Services (Pocatello, Idaho).
