Maury Regional Medical Center (Columbia, Tenn.) and National HealthCare Corp. (NHC; Murfreesboro, Tenn.) have received approval to open an $18 million nursing and rehabilitation center, to replace the companies’ older facilities, reports The Columbia Daily Herald.

The facility, tentatively named the NHC/Maury County Regional Transitional Care Center, will be a 112-bed skilled nursing home with about 60 private patient rooms.

The new building will be created by relocating and replacing the existing 92-bed NHC Healthcare-Hillview, and the 20-bed Maury Regional Hospital Skilled Nursing Unit to an 11-acre site, according to the certificate of need. The estimated project cost is $18,161,672.

The new nursing and rehabilitation center will be run by a joint board of directors.
