The Legacy at Forest Ridge in Schertz, Texas, has started construction on its new assisted living and memory care facility, reports businesswire.com.

The one-story project will feature 112 assisted living and memory care beds and 28 memory care beds, and will serve seniors in the Northeast San Antonio area. The building design will allow adjustment of the number of memory care or assisted living units to accommodate the  growing senior population.

Each wing of the facility will serve as a separate “neighborhood” for the residents and residents of every neighborhood have a shared common area specific to them. However, the facility will also be engineered around a central “Main Street,” showcasing amenities such as a restaurant, movie theater, store, spa, gym and sports bar.

PinPoint Commercial, LLP and Thrive Senior Living, LLC announced a strategic partnership with LG to develop and incorporate technologies specifically designed for the residents of Legacy at Forest Ridge, including remote RFID resident location monitoring, resident computing and redundant bandwidth for video chatting with loved ones, and identity lighting to guide residents to restrooms at night.

Construction is scheduled to wrap by the middle of 2014.
