RoseVilla Senior Living, a continuing care retirement community (CCRC) in Portland, Ore., has announced an expansion that will add 97 zero-energy units, according to a news release.

The project will create two new neighborhoods, Mahonia EcoHomes and RainWood Lofts, as well as a 3,500-square-foot Resilient Operations and Sustainable Energy (ROSE) Hub designed to provide solar power and emergency water during outages.

Mahonia EcoHomes will house 12 independent living units and a 7,700-square-foot wellness center.

RainWood Lofts, the community’s first mass timber residential building, will feature 54 independent living units and 31 assisted living units. Amenities will include a creative arts and wellness hub, theater and performance auditorium, woodshop, ceramics and glass-fusing studios, salon and barbershop, expanded dining services, and an art gallery.

Construction on Mahonia EcoHomes and RainWood Lofts is expected to begin in spring 2027, with completion anticipated in early 2029. The ROSE Hub is currently under construction.

Green Hammer Design + Build (Portland) is the design-build partner for Mahonia and the ROSE Hub. Hacker Architects (Portland) is designing RainWood, with Lease Crutcher Lewis (Seattle) serving as general contractor.
