Environments for Aging has announced three winners and four finalists in its 2026 Remodel/Renovation Competition.
Now in its 18th year, the competition is judged by a panel of senior living design experts who review all submissions. Eligible projects focus on single spaces, including dining areas, lounges, activity areas, lobbies, and other resident spaces.
2026 EFA Remodel/Renovation Competition winners and finalists
The winners are:
- Gold Award: Meadow Ridge (Redding, Conn.) – bar and restaurant, submitted by MDP | Merlino Design Partnership Inc. (King of Prussia, Pa.)
- Silver Award: North Hill (Needham, Mass.) – pub, billiards room, and lounge, submitted by EGA Architects (Newburyport, Mass.)
- Bronze Award: The Landing at The Moorings (Arlington Heights, Ill.) – casual dining and social spaces, submitted by HKS (Dallas)
The finalists are:
- Blakeford at Green Hills (Nashville, Tenn.) – clubroom and library, submitted by RLPS Architects (Pittsburgh) and GMK Interiors (Columbia, S.C.)
- The Cedars of Chapel Hill (Chapel Hill, N.C.) – communal space, submitted by THW Design (Atlanta)
- Medford Leas (Medford, N.J.) – bistro, outdoor kitchen, and pub, submitted by SCOPOS Hospitality Group (Ephrata, Pa.)
- Westney Gardens Retirement Residence (Ajax, Ontario) – assisted living floor, submitted by Office for Architecture & Urban Design Inc. (OUAD)
Winners will be recognized during the annual Environments for Aging Conference + Expo, to be held April 12-14, 2027, in Charlotte, N.C. For more information and to register for the conference, go here.
