The Lodge at Autumn Willow, Fairfax, Virginia
Opened in August 2025, The Lodge at Autumn Willow in Fairfax, Va., brings 150 income-restricted units to a 20-acre wooded site, designed specifically for active seniors who are increasingly priced out of market-rate communities.
The community features primarily one-bedroom apartments ranging from approximately 560 to 1,155 square feet. Amenities include trails, fire pits, courtyards, outdoor recreation spaces reminiscent of a national park lodge or summer retreat, and a community center.
The Lodge at Autumn Willow combines natural surroundings with a central location close to retail and Fairfax County’s network of supportive programs and services.
Lodge-inspired architecture and mass timber at The Lodge at Autumn Willow
The project team—including KTGY (Washington, D.C.) providing architecture and interior design services, Dash Design (New York), and MSA Interiors (Baltimore)—drew inspiration from classic lodge-style structures often associated with America’s national parks.
The result is a community that features natural materials, expansive windows, and a prominent glass-enclosed amenity space. The design creates a seamless transition between interior gathering areas and the surrounding landscape.
