Watermark Retirement Communities (Tucson, Ariz.) and real estate investor Hines (Houston) wanted to add a modern, luxury high-rise community to the Houston area.

Boasting views of the Houston skyline as the tallest building in the area, The Watermark at Houston Heights is scheduled to open in early 2022 and will house 222 residential units including independent living, assisted living, and memory care. The community is part of Watermark’s Élan Collection, the brand’s elevated collection of senior communities in premier destinations.

The seven-story building, designed by Munoz + Albin Architecture & Planning (Houston), will feature two floors of amenity and shared spaces, including a full-service salon and spa, fitness center, and art studio and gallery. Residents also will have access to an expansive rooftop terrace and lounge with sweeping views and an outdoor resort-style pool.

A variety of dining options will be offered at the 287,796 square-foot community, including a formal dining room and a lounge, with expansive skyline views and alfresco dining, as well as integrated wellness services and a movie theater.
