Real-estate developer Sandy River Company (Portland, Maine) and Pen Bay Medical Center in Rockport, Maine, are planning a long-term care and skilled nursing center in Rockland, Maine, according to an article in VillageSoup.

The 65,000-square-foot, $16.5 million community would replace the 84-bed Knox Center, an assisted living, independent living, and memory care community in Rockland, and 39 skilled nursing beds at Quarry Hill, an assisted living, independent living, and memory care community in Camden, Maine. The new community is expected to house 94 beds and will be situated on 29 acres and feature three separate garden areas.

The earliest it would be built is in 2022.
