Boulder Housing Partners (Boulder, Colo.) is planning to renovate the historic Mount Calvary Lutheran Church into a 55+ affordable senior living community in Boulder, according to an article in Daily Camera.

The community will offer 60 units of affordable housing and 15 units for residents who are exiting homelessness, with The Boulder Shelter for the Homeless (Boulder) providing services for those residents.

As part of the design, the former church’s sanctuary will be preserved as a communal space for residents. An on-site childcare center at the church will continue to operate at the community after the renovation.

The project team includes Nixon-Jones Architecture (architect; Denver).

Construction is scheduled to begin in late spring 2022 with the first units tentatively available in fall 2023.
